Tinian commission says only one casino application is pending; will conduct suitability hearing next month

OF the four casino investment applications, only one remains pending, according to the Tinian Casino Gaming Control Commission which will conduct a hearing to determine the financial capacity of the interested investor.

Esther Hofschneider Barr, commission chairwoman, said Tinian Entertainment Co.’s application will be reviewed by TCGCC during a suitability and qualification hearing in March or April.

Alleged fraud ring member arrested after entering casino

Tonya Myers, who is alleged to be a member of a Eunice-based fraud ring, was arrested Monday after a security guard recognized her as she entered a St. Landry Parish casino.

Scott Police Chief Chad Leger said Wednesday Myers, 42, was spotted by a security guard who said he realized it was Myers after seeing her face in the news.
